BOROBUDUR

Borobudur is place for Buddha believers to worshiped to their god.Located at Magelang,Central Java at Indonesia.

Located at 42 kms west of Yogyakarta, on the island of Java in Indonesia, Borobudur - one of the most magnificent Buddhist shrines in the world - was built at the end of the 9th century by the Hindu kings of the Sailendra dynasty.

Its a monument built for Sailendra and the Architects is Gunadharma.

Before studying the monument itself, it is interesting to consider the original name for which the musically resonant "Borobudur" - usually translated as "temple on the hill" - serves as an abbreviation: "Bhumisan Brabadura".

The latter translates into "The Ineffable Mountain of Accumulated Virtues", a highly symbolic title, liturgically speaking.

For Borobudur was conceived as an initiatory mountain, to be ascended level by level by those seeking the enlightenment that corresponds with the unity of the shrine's top.

The plan is extremely simple: a multitude of pagodas, stupas, and niches characterize the lower levels, with a single stupa crowning the whole. The path hence leads from multiplicity to oneness.

Completely built on AD 800.Known as candi borobudur in Indonesia.

This monuments comprises 6 square platform,Topped by 3 circular platform Decorated with 2672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues.

The main dome, located at the center is surrounded with 72 Buddha Statues seated inside perforated stupa.

The monument is a shrine for lord buddha and a place for buddhist pilgrimage

The plan for this stupa is a schematized representation of the cosmos, a mandala. After visiting its lower terraces decorated with bas-reliefs, pilgrims attain the shrine's crowning stupa, which symbolizes the Absolute.
